|Fatal Crash
A motorcycle crash on State Highway 11 east Friday evening resulted in one death, according to local authorities.
Kenneth Higdon was reportedly riding a 2014 Kawasoki motorcycle east on State Highway 11 west, near County Road 2401 south, Friday evening, Oct. 27, when the Kawasaki motorcycle ran off the road and crashed. Only one vehicle was reported to have been involved in the crash, according to Texas Department of Public Safety crash reports.
Speed may have been a factor, officials reported.
Hopkins County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace BJ Teer pronounced Higdon dead at the rah site at 5:50 p.m.
Hopkins County Sheriff 's deputies and firefighters, EMS and DPS also responded to the crash.
The crash is being investigated by Texas Department of Public Safety troopers. No additional details had been released Tuesday morning by DPS.
