Lance Knotts has announced his intent to file as a Republican candidate for Hopkins County Precinct 3 Commissioner in the spring 2024 primary election.
“It is after much prayer and consideration that I have decided to run for this office. Serving my community in this way would be an honor and privilege. As our community continues to grow and evolve, we are experiencing new challenges. We must hold tight to the values and traditions that have made our home so special while simultaneously encouraging the type of progress that best serves our residents and their quality of life,” Knotts said in a press release about his intended candidacy.
Knotts said he and his family are proud to call Hopkins County their home, living on the same tract of land in Precinct 3 since his grandfather returned from World War II.
“Having grown up and lived in the Mount Sterling community my entire life, I feel that I know first hand what is important to my neighbors. Their concerns and needs are also my concerns and needs,” Knotts stated.
Knotts said if elected commissioner of Precinct 3, he will “advocate for our community and make certain that the voice of Precinct 3 is heard” during Commissioners Court. Roads and infrastructure will be a priority.
“I will also work to ensure Precinct 3 and all of Hopkins County is a place future generations can thrive,” the Knotts stated.
