Friday, April 26

„ A traffic stop on FM 2081 at 10:41 p.m. revealed a warrant for Derek Steven Myers’ arrest. The 30-yearold Sulphur Springs man was arrested on the Bexar County driving while intoxicated charge. Myers was transported to jail, his vehicle was released to someone else at his request.

„ Theft of a firearm was reported April 26 on Mc-Grede Drive. Cash, a game console and game were also reported to have been stolen out of vehicles.

„ Deputies were dispatched at 7:34 p.m. to a County Road 2413 residence, to conduct a welfare check. Upon arrival, they contacted Amanda Jo Williams. A records check showed the 44-year-old Pickton woman had at least five outstanding warrants for not paying fines on operation of vehicle with expired license plate, driving while license invalid, illegal dumping on public road, illegal dumping in unapproved dumping site and failure to maintain financial responsibility.

„ Trees fell during the storm on FM 1567 west at State Highway 19 south, County Road 1445 at FM 1567 east, FM 1567 east at FM 2948, County Road 3534, FM 1567 east on State Highway 11 east, FM 69 south at the Wood County line , State Highway 11 east at FM 269 north, FM 852 at FM 269 south, County Road 2302 at FM 2560 Friday.

„ Deputies and Brinker firefighters worked a vehicle crash on County Road 3312 from 11:12 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday.

Saturday, April 27

„ Deputies stopped Antwaun Markeith Fulton at 12:51 a.m. April 27 on State Highway 19 north at FM 71 for expired registration and a defective tail light. As he approached the car, a deputy reported smelling a marijuana odor. A methamphetamine pipe and clear bag were found on him during a pat down. A bulge in his sock turned out to be suspected marijuana. The 31-year-old Commerce man was arrested at 1:12 a.m. for possession of drug paraphernalia.

„ Theft of a firearm was reported on Austin Acres Road April 27.

„ State troopers stopped Joshua Randall Wills for speeding on Interstate 30 near mile marker 132. He told the trooper he was lost, trying to get back to Garland. The 42-year-old Garland man appeared to be impaired by some kind of controlled substance, and showed signs of intoxication during standard sobriety tests. He was taken into custody and to jail. He gave a blood sample at the hospital, then went to jail for driving while intoxicated, troopers alleged in arrest reports.

„ Deputies responded to a request to assist police in the 600 block of East Shannon Road with a suspicious person call. Upon arrival, the deputy contacted a 33-year-old they deemed a suspicious person. A records check showed Micheal Shane McCormick to be wanted in Bowie County for violation of probation on a criminal trespass charge. He was arrested at 5:35 p.m. on the charge.

Sunday, April 28

„ Officers responded at 7:53 a.m. April 28 to a complaint of suspicious activity on Peerless Highway. Upon arrival, deputies observed a man who showed signs of being under the influence of narcotics. Jonathan Damon Shew's demeanor was described as irritated and uncooperative with offiders. The Sulphur Springs man was assisted to the ground, where he claimed to have a previous injury that needed medical attention. The man was released to someone else due to the preexisting injury, and arrested for public intoxication

„ Cumby police stopped Rachel Marie VIllarreal at 11 p.m. on Interstate 30 east at mile marker 108 on two Fort Worth charges for violating a protective order by having direct communication and doing so two or more times in 12 months.The 37-year-old Hurst woman was stopped for driving 87 miles per hour in a 75 mph speed zone.

„ A Cumby Police officer stopped Sedrick Darnell Mercer at 6:48 p.m. on FM 275 north for driving 103 miles per hour in a 65 mph speed zone, driving in the opposite lanes of traffic while traveling north on the FM road. As the GMC truck crossed into the southbound lanes while topping a hill at 103 mph it almost struck another vehicle head-on. The vehicle was stopped and the man found to have an outstanding warrant. He was arrested for driving while license invalid and reckless driving; the vehicle was impounded. He was issued citations because his registration expired in September 2021, driving while license invalid and speeding, according to arrest reports.

Monday, April 29

„ Justan Nathanael Stubblefield checked in with his probation officer, only to learn his probation has been revoked. The 40-year-old Sulphur Springs man was jailed at 8:40 am., according to arrest reports.

„ Deputies took Layne Lee Glenn into custody at 8:53 a.m. on a Tarrant County warrant for violation of probation on an assault resulting in intentional or reckless damage to the breathing or circulation of a family charge.The 64-yearold Fort Worth man was jailed on the charge.

„ Waylon Ray Stubblefield was seen by a deputy at a residence on Jefferson Street at Taylor Street in Como. A records check showed the 27-year-old Sulphur Springs man to have outstanding warrants for driving while license invalid and failure to maintain financial responsbility. He was arrested on the charges.

„ Sheriff's deputies resopnded to a crash on Jefferson Street in Sulphur Springs at 7:19 p.m.

„ County dispatchers answered 183 non-emergency phone calls and 47 emergency calls. Deputies answered 50 calls for service, conducted 14 traffic stops and filed one offense reort. Four people were booked into and five were released from the county jail, which held 216 inmates at 5: 30 a.m. Monday.

Tuesday, April 30

„ Hopkins County Sheriff's Office Communication soperators answered 188 non-emergency phone calls and 21 emergency calls. Deputies responded to 40 calls for service, provided one funeral escort and conducted five traffic stops. Three people were booked into and seven were released from the county jail, which held 212 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
