Life isn’t easy, but you should get the hang of it and know what your plan is for the future, then, you will have more control and life will look easier.

I am a 17-year-old junior in high school. I have most of my future planned out completely, and it’s looking clear to me now. The house where I will live after high school graduation has already been purchased by my mom; while I’m living there, my partner and I will save up enough money to start to build a home. We want to build a two-story, four-bedroom home. We’re going to have a cracked glass stair railing. It will take time, but everything takes time.

I said we all have different dreams and plans for homes, but not all of them come true. I’m really hoping mine do, though. Before I switched schools, I wanted to drop out or get homeschooled because I was just so over school; it drained me, and still does. School isn’t for everyone, but I really am trying to make it till I graduate.

When I graduate, I am leaving everything behind me that was negative or not good for me. I want to keep the friends I have now; I have two best friends, my boyfriend and a girl I met in ninth grade. I do have one other friend that I have been friends with since seventh grade, and it will stay that way. Good friends are so important to support you while you are striving for your dreams.

Everyone always talks about going to college and graduating and doing the best they can. At one point, I told myself and everyone else I wasn't going to be one of those people because I wasn't an overachiever. But now, when I think to myself about my future, I want the best, and that means I will need to go to college and get everything figured out for my future. I plan to get a degree to become a vet assistant.

I want two children, a boy and a girl. I know you can’t technically choose what you have but that’s what I hope for. I want the best for my children when I have them.

I am not going to give up on my future. I believe that I still have a chance to get settled down and figure everything out, and if you are having trouble with not knowing what to do with your life, sit down and think. I treat myself as a priority now when I didn’t used to. You should do the same.
