Sulphur Springs News-Telegram will observe Independence Day July 5

Many local businesses, financial institutions and agencies will be closed Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. All local, state and federal government offices except emergency and on-duty services will be closed for the holiday. That means Sulphur Springs Public Library will be closed on Thursday, July 4, but will re-open for regular hours on Friday and Saturday. The Hopkins County Genealogical Society Research Lbrary will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024 but will reopen on Friday, July 5 at 9:30 a.m.

Banks and the postal services will be closed on July 4. The Sulphur Springs News-Telegram will be open on Thursday, July 4, and will observe Independence Day on Friday, July 5. Thus, the News-Telegram offices will be closed Friday. Accordingly, all SSNT advertising and submission deadlines have been moved up to 5 p.m. Wednesday.
