Three Lions tabbed for All-DFW team
Two make first-team
COMMERCE — Three incoming players for the Texas A&M University- Commerce softball team were named to all-Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex teams by DFW Fastpitch following the completion of their senior seasons.
Jenna Joyce, from Royse City High School, and Brooke Hilton, from Plano West High School, were named to the second team, while Tehya Pitts, from Denton Guyer High School, was named to the third team.
Joyce is slated to play infield for the Lions. Royse City advanced to the regional quarterfinal round of the UIL 6A Region II playoffs. Hilton is a utility player and advanced to the UIL 6A Region I quarterfinals, falling to Pitts and Denton Guyer.
Pitts is anticipated to play in the outfield for A&M-Commerce. Denton Guyer has advanced to the state tournament and faces Bridgeland in the state semifinal at the University of Texas on Friday evening.
All three future Lions join the A&M-Commerce roster in 2024, which is highlighted by returning first team all-Southland Conference shortstop Kaydee Bennett.
